Think Pink

(Military jacket- Urban Outfitters, Knit- H&M, Jeans- BDG Urban Outifitters, Booties- Urban Outfitters, Necklace- Forever 21)

There's nothing watermelon about this pink and green combo.  I love pink and I find it ironic this is the only pink clothing I own.  To tone down this girly color, I paired it up with my military jacket and booties to "toughen" up my look.  HA!  There's nothing tough about me, but hey, it couldn't hurt to try.

Cowboy Boots Season

(Forever 21 Romper & Earrings, Steve Madden Cowboy boots, Sunglasses from Nordstrom BP)

These pictures were taken right before the mini ominous weather LA experienced.  I picked up this tribal print romper from F21, part of their buy 1 get one free sale.  This just shows you, with the right color and pattern, you can incorporate your summer wardrobe into fall.  And to make it more 'fall' appropriate, I paired it with my slouchy cowboy boots.  Super excited to dust those cuties out of the closet.

TGIF

(Blouse, Shorts and Rings from Forever 21, Shoes from Sam Edelman)

Being unorganized bit me in the butt this past Friday when I committed myself to two different birthday parties, a kid's party and a not so 'kids' party.  I know the latest craze is to take an outfit from day to night, but how do you take an outfit from a 5 years old Iron Man themed party to a 28 years old club party?  The answer is SHOES.  I wore this outfit with some oxford flats for the Iron Man party (sorry, I should have taken a picture, but totally forgot) and with some heels for the club.

How do you guys dress for multiple events?  I would love to hear your thoughts, just in case something like this happens to me again.  XOXO

Simplicity

(White button shirt- H&M, Jeans- BDG skinny cigarette denim UO, Leopard print booties, necklace and rings- Forever 21)

There is something about a white shirt and blue denim that is so refreshing to me.  I see it as a blank canvas and you can dress it up or down anyway you like.  I decided to be funky and paired my simple outfit with these cute leopard print wedge booties I picked up from F21.  These are super comfortable and the best $35 I've spent.

Dine LA

Last week, some friends and I took advantage of this food event and went to a little place called "Vertical Wine Bistro" in Old Town Pasadena.  It was a cute, romantic restaurant, probably not the best for a rowdy group of 6.  If you guys are ever in the area, check it out.  The beef done two ways was DELICIOUS!

It's getting gloomier and darker here in So Cal and I can't seem to part ways with my denim shorts.  My friends will vouch for me, it can be 40 degrees outside and I'll be wearing a dress (with blue/purple goosebumps).  The price I pay to hold on to the warmer months.

Girls Day Out

I believe regular 'girls day/night out' is crucial in maintaining one's sanity.  I've clocked in a little more than 40 hours of work and about 9 hours of studying this past week, leaving very little time to hang out with anyone and sleep.  On Saturday, my sister planned a day of girly things that included a "Trend/Beauty" event at Nordstrom and lunch.  It was warmth to my soul!

California can't seem to make up it's mind, is it summer or fall?!?  I love layering an off-the-shoulder sweater over a romper or a dress.  It's a great way to hold on to your summer clothes for as long as you can!  Just remember to pick appropriate colors.  I received weird looks when I wore a hawaiian-like colored dress under a chucky sweater.  I guess summer is over for some people...

Graduation

The weather has been pretty awesome in Cali.  Anyone who complains about the 90+ degrees should move either north or east because let's face it, isn't this what makes the Golden State THE BEST?!?  So when my best friend's graduation was set at 12pm on Friday, I had no problem taking the day off to partake in his festivities.

I LOVE this dress and always get compliments whenever I wear it.  This is actually a vintage grecian dress that came up to mid calf on me, but with a little alteration (I shorten it with a fishtail), it became a modern twist on a classic style!  This is actually a really good way of updating those old dresses in the back of your closet or at the bottom of a clearance box at a thrift shop.  You know what they say, "one man's trash is another man's treasure..."

Fremont Street

I went to Vegas a few days ago on a whim and turned out to be the best 'unplanned' trip ever!  We hung out on the very north end of the Vegas strip, played old slot machines and browse the dated souvenir shops.  Not to mention, where else can you get a deep fried twinkie and gamble... at the same time?!?

If you've noticed, I've worn the same pair of black booties in my previous posts.  They are super comfortable and just about goes with EVERYTHING!  And the best part is, I bought them from Urban Outfitters for  20 buckaroos!  That's right, 20 dollars!  Have you ever bought something and became totally obsessed with them?

Fall Florals

I love layering my clothes!  It's been a little warm for being "fall" in SoCal, but that doesn't mean we can't play around with our clothes.  The in-between weather (or the lack-off) is one of the reasons I LOVE California.  We don't have set clothes for certain seasons, but can transition a summery dress into cooler months with the right layers and shoes.

Swap Meet

Counting the days until California is hit with cooler weather, my bf and I decided to check out the Alameda Swap Meet in Vernon today.  It was not at all what I expected.  I was hoping it would be like the flea market at the Rose Bowl or even the Trading Post on Melrose or maybe Santee Alley in DTLA.  The day wasn't a total disappointment, we ate some yummy tacos!

LA Fair

I went to the LA County Fair this past Saturday and had a blast.  I was with great company, ate great food (the fried snicker was to die for), and was blessed with great weather.

Let me apologize for the poor/dark pictures.  I meant to bring my camera, but left it behind when I rushed out the door.  So these were taken with my bf's phone.  Also, for my apprehensive/awkward poses.  I'm still trying to get the hang of taking pictures by myself.  Hopefully I'll be better as I progress with this blog!  XOXO

Head to toes I am wearing: Top/bandeau/sandels/rings are from F21 and the shorts are from a small shop on Melrsose.
