Party Planning

A few friends and I celebrated the Lover Boy's birthday a couple of weeks ago and I am surprisingly pleased with the outcome, not to toot-my-own-horn, but I hear it was an 'amazing' party!  HAHA  Here is a glimpse of the night:

I'm sorry I didn't share the planning process with you guys, the Lover Boy reads my blog from time to time and since it was a surprise party, I didn't want to be the one to ruin it.

And yes, that's me in the second picture, indulging in some tacos.  HAHA

Venue: Catchlight Studios
Caterer:  My Taco Man
Decorating and planning was done by yours truly! XO

A Little Rock & Roll

Forever 21- Top/Shorts/Belt/Boots, Marc by MJ- Watch, H&M- Rings

My favorite gals and I had a little staycation this weekend in Newport Beach and while it was sunny in LA, it wasn't near the beach.  Hence the outfit pictures taken from our hotel hallway.  I couldn't bare the wind or the light rain.  Sad face.

I think I have a slight obsession with these cutoff shorts!  I bought 4 pairs just last week and I have 2 more pending on a wishlist from Urban Outfitters.  I need help or I wish shopping wasn't so accessible.

Neon Brights

Dress- Forever 21, Shoes- Unknown from a street vendor, Random DIY bracelets

I'm really digging the bright, eye-blinding, neon colors!  Maybe a little too much since I'm wearing this lime crochet dress with some coral booties.  These pictures somehow toned down the vividness HAHA

Two Wheelers Fun

Top- Brandy Melville, Shorts- Levi's, Shoes- Converse, and random DIY bracelets

Yesterday, LA closed ten miles of it's streets to bicyclists, skateboarders, roller bladers, and walkers in an awesome event called CicLAvia.  What is Ciclavia you ask?  It was created to encourage people to go out and enjoy the city.  This event makes the streets safe for people to walk, skate, play and ride a bike; while connecting the communities and giving the public a break from the stress of traffic, not to mention temporarily cutting the pollution and congestion.  With the rise in obesity, I think this is one of the movements worth supporting! If you're in the LA area, check the website for the next event!

While all of my favorite bloggers and celebrities were rockin' at Coachella I was staying local, enjoying all the fun activities LA has to offer and trying not to think about missing out on the iconic Cali music festival. There's always next year...

P.S. My butt and legs are very sore from cruising LA and that just reminds me I should go back to the gym.  HAHAHA  Wish me luck, I heard the pain in day 2 is the worst :(

Opposite Attracts

Sweater- H&M, Shorts- Thrifted Betsy Johnson, Necklace/Clutch- Forever 21, Flats- Unknown from Santee Alley

This might be just me, but I'm loving the short shorts/sweater combo and I can't be happier that the weather in LA is cooling down.  Now I know the outfit contradicts one another, like why wear a sweater with shorts, aren't your legs cold?  Or if its so hot to wear shorts, why pair it with a sweater, aren't you hot?  Yes, you wouldn't believe how many of those questions/comments I get throughout the day.  But I feel as if the unbalance between the two works.  Just be me.

Lusting for Friday

Dress- Brandy Melville, Denim jacket/tights- H&M, Booties/necklace/belt- Forever 21

My weekend just came and went... I apologize for the absence, I spent the last week at jury duty and that messed up with my daily schedule.  My time at the courthouse was surprisingly rewarding and enjoyable.  For those who disregard or ignores those pesky juror notification, please give it a try.  It might shock you.

I adore this floral dress.  The print makes it easy to transition this garb from winter to spring and spring to fall, I love multi-functional pieces!  Once it's warmer, I'm thinking I'll pair this dress with bright flats or a fringe vest or with a boho head wrap... so many possibilities!

How do you transition your closet from winter to spring?
