The Good Girl List

The Good Girl List

Can you believe Christmas is exactly 2 weeks from today? This year is flying by!

I have a love/hate relationship with gift buying, I'll have good years and bad years.  In all my 20 years of gift giving (a lot of trial and errors) I've compiled a list of presents you can't go wrong for that special lady/friend/sister/mom/aunt/etc. and won't break the bank.
(You're welcome!)

I absolutely love the frangrance sampler from Sephora!  It's $65.00 for 12-15 samplers and a voucher to redeem a full size of your favorite scent.  This box set allowed me to go out of my comfort zone and try a new perfume when I normally wouldn't.

You can never go wrong with a new lip color to spice things up or to brighten up your winter.  And I never leave my house without my Fresh Sugar Lip.  It's super moisturizing and perfect for this dry weather.

It's true what they say, diamonds are a girls BFF and Bauble Bar has the best trinkets!  You can spend hours on that site.

Once you use a Clarisonic, you'll never go back to washing your face the old-fashion way.  So get with the technology age and get yours today!  Your face will thank you.

Last but not least, no girl hates nail polish.  These mini sets are especially my favorite.  You can try an array of colors and not commit to a full size bottle.  Hey, nail polish are not meant to last 10 years.

What are some of your foul proof present ideas?

From Miss to Mrs

I’m super-duper excited to share with you a glimpse of my wedding day.   It has been a whirlwind year of saving and planning, negotiating and compromising, tears and laughter, but all of that doesn’t matter because it led me down the aisle to marry my best friend and the man of my dreams!

Once again, I had abandoned my blog.  There are days I wished there were more than 24 hours in a day so I can do everything I want, but I’m back and have some exciting news I will reveal when the time is right.  For now, enjoy these pictures and thanks for visiting!  I’ve missed you all.  XO

DIY: Chalkboard

A couple of weeks back, I visited the Rosebowl flea market in hopes of finding a giant frame (which I did) and also some vintage pieces for the house.  After browsing endless rows of second-hand booths, I noticed that people were turning old frames into these cool chalkboard and charging $30-$100!  I thought to myself I could make 5 boards for $30 and accepted the challenge.  Yes, I made a bet with myself!

Here is what you need:
-frame(s)
-chalkboard paint or chalkboard contact paper (I used the contact paper)
-Scissors

Take the backing of the frame off; I applied the contact paper directly on the glass since it has a clean and smooth surface.  If your frame is missing this part, you can use cardboard paper. And apply the contact paper to that instead.
Measure and cut. The grid behind the contact paper made cutting straight a cinch!

Peel and stick.  And TA-DA!  Your very own chalkboard for less than $5!

This was such a fun project and I hope you find it enjoyable as well!

XO

These Boots Are Made For Walking

Romper: UO, Vest: Brandy Melville, Booties: Steve Madden, Purse: De La Luna

The weather in LA has been a little frickled, one day it's warm and the next it's windy, so dressing as been interesting.  We were blessed with a sunny weekend, so hot that I stopped by a 7-11 for a slurpee!  I haven't had one in YEARS!

One of my go-to pieces for summer are rompers, they have this effortlessly cool vibe and when paired with a cool pair of booties, I feel so... pretty.

What are your go-to summer essentials?

Sunday Funday- CicLAvia

Romper: TopShop, Sandals: Steve Madden, Hat: Urban Outfitters, Purse: Thifted

The streets of LA were closed for a few hours for bikers, walkers, roller skaters, anyone and everyone yesterday as an incentive to get out and do something!  A movement I totally support.  If we all just took one hour out of the day to go outside to play, we would cut down on the number of obesity in America.  If we just took one hour to walk to the corner market, instead of driving, we would cut down on the level of population and help our environment.  Just one hour out of the day would make such a big difference.  In honor of Earth Day (today), lets try to give Earth our one hour!

Please let me know how or what you guys did below!

Hope you guys are having a great Monday!
XOXO

Wedding Planning 101

Planning a wedding can be fun and will bring two people families closer together, that is if everyone remembers it's about the soon-to-be bride and groom.

I wish I had a friend or a mentor or anyone tell me what I was getting myself into when I started the planning process; that the first and most important rule is to set a budget!  May it be big or small, it doesn't matter.  The point is to know how much you're willing to spend on each tasks or items.  Remember, you're not stuck with the budget you and your fiance set for yourself.  You can always compromise and/or allocate funds from one category to another.  For example, I'm thinking of getting a vintage dress and using my dress money for some couture shoes.  (I'm thinking Jimmy Choos)

The Mister and I did no such thing.  The first thing we did was secure our venue, so that we can secure a date.  This was important since we have families coming in from out of the country and they needed time to make travel arrangements.  Without setting a budget, we booked the first wedding site we saw.  No negotiation  no bargaining... we just signed the contract and went on our way.

We paid the wedding venue in installments so it did not hit us hard, financially, until we started planning and buying other wedding related stuff.  We soon learned that we're blowing our money on stuff that wasn't even necessary or if we had waited, we could have gotten a much better deal.

With only a few tasks left on the list of to-dos, we're both much smarter now.  (It only took us 6 months HA!)  We have an idea of how much we're willing to spend and we will not go over that threshold.

When you're planning your dream wedding, remember to set a budget!  You do not want to spend weeks of eating ramen and to learn it the hard way.

Oh and don't take the friend who likes everything, she will get you into financial trouble as well.

Sunday Funday

Romper (worn as shorts): UO (similar ones here and here), Knit Sweater: Nordstrom (similar one here), Jacket: Zara, Booties: Steve Madden.

Happy Monday!

One of the best things about LA are the flea markets!  And what makes it great is not necessary the merchandise, but the weather.  You can shop and walk around for hours without being tired or exhausted.

The Mister and I were on a mission to find some frames for our upcoming wedding (DIY project coming up).  Let me tell you, it's not fun when you have to shop for a purpose.  I was distracted with these rows and rows of vintage purses and home made jewelries; but I was good and walked out of there with only the two frames that we came there for.

Maybe I'll venture out there next month without the Mister...

DIY: Flower Crown

I don't know if it's the warmer temperature or that Coachella is this weekend, but it's bringing the flower child in me out.  A flower crown is the ultimate bohemian accessory and it's so simple to make and cost around $4.  I fashion this one in 5 minutes!

First, you need to gather your supplies:
Flowers/ Scissors/ Strings (you may use twisties, I had some leftover threads, so that was what I used). Floral tape would be great, but if you just want to use what you have around the house, thread works just fine.

Second, I arrange the flowers in ascending order and securing the flowers every couple of inches.  Remember to bend the stems slightly to make the crown.

I try to end my crown with two stems together, that way, securing them together is much easier.  But if you're in situation where your crown ends with two flowers, fear not, what you can do is cut out a stem and tie both flowers onto that stem.

Lastly, I cut up some roses (you can use any flowers) and you just fill in the gaps.

Ta Da!  Your very own flower crown!

Spring Is Here

Jacket: H&M, Tank: Target, Skirt: UO (similar ones here and here), Booties: Steve Madden

Spring is definitely here and I'm so happy I can finally incorporate color into my wardrobe.

I've been busy the last couple of days, trying to make up for all those months of procrastination on my wedding plans.  But I am happy to say the Mister and I are almost done with everything what we can think of.  Thank you for all the suggestions and recommendations!  I couldn't have done it without you guys!

Happy Monday!  Boo says woof!

All photos taken shared from Green Wedding Shoes

My gals do not know it yet, but I'm almost positive that I will have them wear flower crowns in the wedding!  There is just something so magical and whimsical about them.

Maybe I'll wear a flower crown instead of a veil?!?

My wedding is almost six months away and I have yet to plan anything.  At least I know what my bridesmaids with wear... on their heads.  HA!

If you have any suggestions on what or where I should start in my planning, I would love to hear them!  So far I have my venue (and date) and a photographer.  Hey, I wasn't completely procrastinating,  I planned two things... in 6 months. Ekkk.

Summer Is Almost Here

Top: Prabal Gurung x Target, Denim: BDG, Bracelet: (on the right hand) Jewelmint

TGIF Lovelies!

It's been a while since I've logged on!  Coming back from vacation is always tough to get back into the groove of things.

I picked up this top a month ago and surprisingly, yesterday was the first time I wore it.  I love the bright and abstract color and kept everything else to a minimum so that it doesn't clash with one another.  Not to mention, it reached a high of 85 degrees in LA.  Less is sometimes more.

Stay cool!
