Effortlessly Cool

H&M cardigan/tee/tights, DIY Levi shorts, F21 shoes/purse

I love wearing black tights underneath shorts, especially denim shorts.  I think it adds an instant "I don't care" kind of attitude.  I paired these high-waisted shorts with an oversize cardigan to play off the proportions of the fitted shorts and tee and threw on one of my bf's frayed scarf for contrast (plus warmth, it got cold when the sun set). 

I wore this little effortlessly "cool" outfit on a day-after-christmas shopping trip, which was a bad idea.  Every single store held a 50% off sale and I couldn't help but be a little curious.  Well, my curiosity cost me a pretty penny (several pretty pennies).  I can't wait to show you guys what I bought in the next few posts.

Merry Christmas... A Day Later

I spent the last few days entertaining friends and family and planned a play date with my furry love, Boo.  I hope you guys had the greatest Christmas ever!  I apologize for being a day late... Hope Santa brought you everything you wanted!

There is something about denim on denim that seems so casual chic to me.  I paired my analogous outfit with a pair of leopard wedges for that added pop of color. 

All my complaints about the cold weather has paid off, today LA was blessed with sunshine and clear skies.  On my day off, I met up lover boy for lunch in Santa Monica and browsed 3rd St. Promenade for some last minute stocking stuffers. Somehow, an unproductive day unintentionally became productive.  I should take more days off! 

Christmas is in THREE days!!!! 

Chilly Wednesday

It's been so cold here in LA and my idea of keeping warm is to pile on as much clothes as possible.  Sometimes it doesn't even match (HA!)  Lately, I've been pairing lots green and blue together.  You wouldn't think these two "neutrals" go so well hand in hand. 

It's funny how when you're growing up, your mom would teach you how to match your clothes; white and blue, grey and black, pink and white, and so forth...  But as you get older, you tend to break those 'old wives' rules.  Times are changing and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Festive Florals

There is something about flowers that brightens my day (or night).  Maybe its the colors, or the scents, or perhaps the way its delivered?!?  Whatever it may be, I LOVE IT! 

Loverboy and I went to his company's holiday party at The Lot in West Hollywood this past Thursday.  And it was one of the best parties I've ever been to! 

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Christmas is in 6 days!!!!  This year is just zooming by!

Photo Diary- Big Bear

Some friends and I spent the weekend at Big Bear Lake and I can't believe that a two-hour drive can take you into another world!  The mountains, streets and treetops were covered in snow, it was very magical!  What a nice way to start the holiday season.

Urban Outfitters are having a sale on top of their clearance racks right now and I cleaned up the place pretty nicely!  I couldn't wait to wear and show off some of my bargain buys, this floral skirt AND these suede wedges are only $10 a piece!  They were practically giving them away!!!  Head into your nearest UO and treat yourself to one or two cute things... you deserve it!

Giving Thanks

I apologize for my absence.  It's been crazy the last few weeks with me studying and taking my NAPLEX and CPJE, celebrating Thanksgiving, mini family trip, and all while working.  I got exhausted just typing my latest accomplishments.  HA! But I'm back and hopefully more consistence!

I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving.  My family (plus my sister's in-laws) went to Las Vegas, NV for the long weekend.  It was quite odd to not pack 5-inch stilettos and mini dresses.  I went for total comfort and I don't know if I can ever revert back to "club wear" again!

Thursday Blues

I would have to say Thursdays are one of the toughest days of the week; it's one day shy of the weekend and four days into the work week.  I translated my feelings into something stylish with this slouchy geo-print sweater and some colorful bracelets to help brighten my day. 

I met up a girlfriend for dinner tonight at a ramen place called Ikeman in Hollywood.  Let me share something with you guys, I'm asian, I eat ramen like people eat cereals and this was the first time I had "dip ramen" (something this restaurant was known for).  The broth and noodles were plated separately (sorry, I should have taken a picture) and that was so foreign to me.  I didn't know if I should have transferred the noodles into my cup of broth?  But it was a small bowl and wouldn't fit all the noodles.  I don't know if it was eaten correctly, but I just took a bite of the noodles and a sip of the broth.  I did get a few weird stares from the waitress, but it could be my confused look and my friend laughing hysterically at me.

There's something about wearing a blazer that makes dressing seem so effortlessly chic.  People usually gush about pricier items like Louboutin shoes or Chanel handbags, but it's the little things that gets me excited.  Don't you just love my "love" stack rings from Forever 21?!?  When I spotted these babies from across the room, I knew I had to have it and at $3.80, I bought one for each of my bffs.  I love spreading the "love"!

Today was a good day.  Came home from work to a home-cooked meal and after dinner, my bf and I just laid in bed listening to Adele.  Man, can that girl sing.  I truly enjoy nights like tonight! 

Sun-drenched Fall

I woke up with the sun shining in my face and it felt great, especially since LA had been gloomy the past few days.  I quickly made plans to meet my Love for brunch and browsed a few shops in the vicinity.  I think we both felt cooped up because he agreed to go out on football Sunday.  Haha  It was a great ending to the weekend.
